The agency landscape is shifting, as companies expect true partnerships that are able to scale up quickly. As Digital Account Director, you intuitively understand the components of a trustworthy relationship while knowing where to leverage strategy, tactics and resources to retain and grow them.

You’ll be leading a team of Account Strategists, each with their own amazing strengths and client relationships that can blossom further with a senior touch. You’re a jack of all trades and are able to learn rapidly, with a high level of emotional intelligence. Your ability to listen properly and communicate clearly are unparalleled - you’re half consultant, half mini-CEO who is capable of juggling several priorities at once. As business development brings more business in, you’ll need to be able to recruit and cultivate new hires to service clients while championing the process, practice and culture we’ve built over the past 6 years.

Previous staff of Skyrocket have compared this role to an MBA, with the power and flexibility to take as much as you want out of the role in order to better yourself. Your day-to-day activities will shift in pursuit of making our clients ecstatic, while upskilling our staff.

Responsibilities 
  • Work closely with the Business Development team and Project Management team to ensure a seamless end-to-end client experience
  • Ensure the Client Services team is working efficiently and effectively, leveraging management techniques to guide them and help them improve
  • Develop strategic partnerships with firms that are based on trust and deliver value, without over-promising and under-delivering
  • If needed, you’re able to parachute into complex situations or sensitive discussions in order to facilitate a path forward that’s agreeable
  • Able to conduct powerful meetings and guide presentations and workshops, from discovery through to value proposition mapping or persona development
  • You have a strong understanding of brand, marketing and business strategy which enables you to provide feedback on copywriting and designs
  • Working with remote teams is part of the modern landscape, and you’re able to help juggle the workloads of many to ensure projects are delivered to satisfaction
  • Perform other related duties, including account management, as required from time to time

Skills, education and experience 
  • A degree or diploma in Marketing, Sales, Consulting, Communications or other business-related discipline
  • Impeccable writing, spelling and grammar
  • 5+ years experience in a high-paced technology environment, working in a professional customer-facing senior role
  • 3+ years of managing teams, small or large
  • Preferred experience in agency environments
  • A qualification in Marketing, Digital or Business Strategy would be ideal
  • Ideal candidate would have also have knowledge of website design practices, processes and technologies
  • Ability to understand marketing data-driven actionable insights
  • Strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal team player
  • Able to self-teach to fill in any knowledge gaps
  • Proactive and solution-oriented
  • Adapt easily to changing situations and demonstrates flexibility in juggling priorities
